Hamas posts video of Israeli captives pleading for their release

In a video posted on Telegram by Hamas's armed wing, 79-year-old Haiem Bery says the elderly captives have chronic illnesses and are "living in very harsh conditions".

Bery added that the captives do not want to be killed "as a direct result of Israeli air strikes".

"We do not understand why we have been abandoned here," he said. "You have to release us the cost [of that] does not matter."
