The British authorities were to a great extent were responsible for the murder of slaves at sea and on land. For them they saw the slaves as beasts not human. The ship from Liverpool crewed by European continental sailors and Brits unanimously decided to through over board over 100 black slaves, men, women and children with hands tied. Certain death by drowning.
Why would they be so cruel? Because they were allowed to get away with it for so long. The opinions of York and Talbot Attorney General and Solicitor General supported the main stream view that these slaves were beasts.
