In this episode, Cicely pokes holes in the Miss Universe 2023 contest's woke mantra of "empowering women" despite featuring two transgender contestants. After having filed for bankruptcy just 10 days prior to the pageant's airing, the pageant's parent company, JKN—which is headed by a transgender activist—must face the reality that the public desires Miss Universe contestants with XX chromosomes.
