THE UPDF HAS WITHDRAWN ITS FORCES FROM NORTH KIVU (DRC)

The Uganda peoples defence forces UPDF has withdrawn its forces deployed for a regional peacekeeping mission in North Kivu Rutshuru general area in eastern democratic republic of congo
The defence spokesperson Brig Gen Felix Kulayigye confirmed that the exit of UPDF follows DRC government decision not to renewal the mandate of the East African Community Regional Force beyond December 2023.
