Prison City | The Ultimate Retro Platforming Experience

Hello Im Skill Incarnate and Welcome to My Games Review Series.
My reviews cover indie games that i have bought, had gifted to me and have been provided by developers for review. In this episode I check out one of the best Retro Platformers ive ever player, with Prison City. This game is developed by Progromancer and published by Retroware,
who also released the excellent Angry Video Game Adventures Series. Prison City is a love letter to the Golden Age of Platformers, with a look and feel thats straight out of an 8 Bit Classic NES Game.

Prison City takes place in the city of Detroit, in the far off year of 1997. Detroit has become a crime ridden wasteland which has been converted to a Mega Prison. A terrorist group has infiltrated the prison, controlling the prisoners with advanced technology. The player controls Hal Bruzer,
a grizzled ex cop called back from retirement. Its your task to fight your way through the Prison City, destroying the Wardens and returning Detroit to the people.

Prison City takes everything we love about classic platformers, precise platforming, epic boss battles and a formidable challenge. It also has a massive amount of replay value with multiple difficulties, game modes and achievements. If your a fan of Indie Retro Games, or looking for NES style games then Prison City is the game to buy. Trust me, ive finished it 3 times.

Prison City is an action-packed side-scrolling shooter where players use chakrams and grenades to battle through various levels, defeat bosses, and uncover hidden upgrades. The game features customizable gameplay and difficulty, a "Boss Rush" mode for players to compete for the best time, and an excellent retro soundtrack by Raddland Studios.

80s and 90s ACTION MOVIE & GAME REFERENCES
Prison City is packed with nods and homages to classic action movies and games from the 80s and 90s, including iconic one-liners, memorable characters, and familiar gameplay mechanics. Fans of the action genre will feel right at home.

FIGHT YOUR WAY ACROSS AN ENTIRE CITY
Players will fight their way across an entire city, grappling through 8+ level zones, like a Freeway, a Factory, and a Nature Preserve. Each zone presents its own unique challenges, from environmental hazards to powerful bosses that will put your skills to the test.

FIGHT FOR THE FUTURE... IN THE FAR OFF YEAR OF 1997
The crime-ridden and crumbling city of Detroit was evacuated in 1995 and became an impenetrable mega-prison. In the present-day (of 1997) an evil group has infiltrated and seized control. Former cop Hal Bruzer is called back from retirement by his mentor, "The Chief," to take down the "Techno-Terrorists" and their appointed Wardens... to hopefully, bring the 'spirit' of Detroit back!!
