Undying | A Different Take on Survival Games

My reviews cover indie games that i have bought, had gifted to me and have been provided by developers for review.

In this episode I am returning to the Zombie Survival Genre with Undying, created by small developer Vanimals and Published by Skystone Games, who released the popular Deckbuilder Hellcard. Undying takes a different approach to the classic Zombie Survival Games. Rather than controlling a lone survivor in the apocalypse, the game follows a young mother Anling and her son Cody. After an evacuation attempt goes horribly wrong, Anling is bitten trying to save her son. With the clock ticking down, your goal is to not to escape, but to protect and prepare her son for an uncertain future. Youll prepare and fortify a safe home for your son and slowly teach him your survival skills.

In a market that has been flooded by Zombie Survival Games, Undying introduces some new ideas and also manages to create an interesting narrative, with likeable characters that have real personality. In addition to the survival crafting mechanics, the game also has some light roguelike elements like random events, and characters to interact with, adding some uniqueness into each run. Undying is well received on steam, with popular reviews from fans of the zombie survival genr. If your looking for a Zombie Survival game that is a little different, or prefer a more story based narrative then i recommend trying out Undying

It's not a survival game if there's no crafting and now, with so many things to craft and enhance, it's a wonder if there'll even be enough resources!
How you use the crafting system will determine if you survive or not, and how easy it will be.

Each time you start a game of Undying, you'll never know how the map will be laid out before your eyes. The 14 major locations will be spread across the map in a variety of layouts, while the other "Unsafe Areas" are filled with random events that can quickly alter your plans. Will you help an ungrateful survivor; what about a gang surrounded by zombies? You never know who you will encounter on your journey, each with their own tale to tell.
