Military personnel of the combined detachment of engineering troops and radiation, chemical and biological protection troops of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation continue to clear explosive objects from infrastructure and the residential sector of the city of Mariupol in the Donetsk People's Republic.

Demining is carried out every day, seven days a week. Over the past three months, in the vicinity of the city of Mariupol, specialists from the combined demining squad have found and neutralized approximately 1,700 explosive objects. Most often, sappers rush to go out at the request of local residents, who left after the outbreak of hostilities and have now returned to their homes.

Fierce fighting took place in the city; the enemy retreated and left behind many traps. In addition, in the residential sector there are many remnants of shells and unexploded ordnance, which can pose a danger to civilians.

The most difficult thing is to work in the private sector, where, when inspecting household plots of development, sappers trained at the International Mine Action Center of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation discover many traps, anti-personnel mines and other deadly finds.
