Air defence units destroyed more than a dozen Ukrainian reconnaissance drones in a week

In the Artyomovsk direction, units of Russian paratroopers are protecting the crews of the Verba man-portable anti-aircraft missile systems (MANPADS) from air strikes. Airborne anti-aircraft gunners are constantly on combat duty in air defense and covering military units and subunits of the formation carrying out the defense of the specified line. To detect them and destroy air targets, the paratroopers equipped a network of air observation points that allow them to timely detect and destroy enemy aircraft.

Having received a combat mission to search and destroy an enemy reconnaissance UAV, the air defense unit with the Verba MANPADS began to carry it out. After detecting air targets, the anti-aircraft gunner fired a missile from the launch position from the Verba MANPADS and destroyed a reconnaissance drone of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

During the entire period of the special military operation, air defense crews of the Airborne Forces accounted for hundreds of downed various UAVs of the Ukrainian troops. Over the past week alone, one of the air defence units of the paratroopers shot down more than 10 reconnaissance drones of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the sky above Russian positions.
