A Tale of Two Indignities

Which of the following actions do you consider more indecent?

A. When average American citizen Richard Barnett wandered into the Capitol Building on January 6th, 2021 and propped his feet on Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi’s desk…OR
B. When 24-year-old Senate aide Aidan Maese-Czeropski filmed himself having gay sex inside a Senate hearing room at the Capitol.

Has equal justice been served? Or is there one set of legal standards for Conservatives and another for Liberals?

Barnett claimed he was swept along by the crowd into the Capitol building and was simply looking for a restroom to use. After nature called, he was sentenced to four and a half years in prison. He left no bodily stains on any furniture.

To this point, Maese-Czeropski has only lost his job over filming himself having unprotected, unsanitary, gay sex in the Senate chambers. He is considering filing a lawsuit in response.

One witness to history has a unique vantage point on both events. After the January 6th “insurrection,” Democrat Senator Ben Cardin of Maryland referred to the Capitol as a “sacred space” and that it was “so much more than a building.” Imagine Cardin’s chagrin when the staffer fired for making his mark on the “seat of power” was a member of his own staff. That probably explains why the announcement of the dismissal was so short and pointed, “We will have no further comment on this personnel matter.”

When defending the decorum of the Senate building might offend one of your most powerful political bases like the LGBTQ community, saying nothing is the easy way out.

Oh, by the way, the “gay sex on the desk” was in the same chamber where former FBI Director James Comey gave his 2017 testimony against Trump!

But for now, and until further notice, you’ll need a Geiger counter and a shipping container of Lysol to measure and disinfect the toxic levels of Democrat hypocrisy on the hallowed grounds of Capitol Hill.
