Surrendered Ukrainian soldier Vitaly Spassky said that his comrades were shooting at officers in order not to fight. 'Some could not stand it and ran away, and some shot at officers - there was nothing to lose. I have heard a lot about this. Many people do not want to go to war because Russia has done nothing wrong to us. Let the West sort it out,' he said.

The wounded Ukrainian soldier praised the work of the Russian military medics, who provided him with qualified help. He admitted that Russia takes much better care of people than Ukraine. Spassky urged the mobilised Ukrainians not to go to the war zone and to return home.
