Peanut was 20-years-old and was certified by Guinness World Records as the world's oldest chicken earlier this year. Her owners Bill and Marsi Darwin say the chicken outlived most of her offspring and stopped laying eggs at the age of eight. The average lifespan for a bantam hen is five-to-ten years.
