In just a few short days, we'll be sending 2023 on its way and ringing in the New Year!

And there is lots going on in the first few months of 2024 as key criminal trials wrap up. The media is focused on Tamara and Chris as the "face of the convoy". However, there are still key criminal trials happening that haven't received the same level of attention, and the outcome of these trials is equally important to Canadians.

- Cullen McDonald was charged in 2021 for common nuisance x2 for speaking at two protests. His rulings are Jan 3rd and 6th in Niagara Falls.
- Byron Carr's last day of trial is Jan 12th at the Ottawa Courthouse. Byron’s expert witness testified that the Crown’s evidence is problematic, and the judge agreed.
- Norm Blanchfield's trial continues March 18th in Ottawa. OPS Superintendent Robert Bernier will be called to the witness stand for questioning in his role in the Convoy shutdown. Bernier was responsible for clearing the Ottawa streets and testified that OPS had the tools they needed without the need of the Emergencies Act. And lastly, can the Prime Minister be sued? Omar Khadr did exactly that and he won. The Supreme Court Canada ruled that Khadr's Charter rights were violated and he was awarded $10.5 million dollars.
