Does Umarex Have A Safety Issue On The Gen 1 Gauntlet?!

As I was shooting the Umarex Gauntlet Gen 1, I placed it on safety. When I was ready to resume shooting at a specific target, I forgot that the safety was "engaged" and pulled the trigger. Nothing happened.

As I released the safety on the rifle, it fired to my surprise (safely downrange).
