Investigation At An Upper Peninsula High School For Possible Embezzlement

Marquette Area Public Schools (MAPS) have been in the headlines for most of this year due to a controversial vote this summer to remove their name of the Redmen and Redettes.

The school board is still looking to come up with a new official mascot name.

However, Marquette Area Public Schools is back in the headlines, as Marquette City Police released details that they are investigating an incident of embezzlement.

According to Police, the schools administrative staff contacted authorities about a suspected incident at the high school. A suspect has been identified, but, as of Friday has not been charged.

The investigation remains open and ongoing.
