NEW Slasher Movie with Mickey Mouse in the Works

There’s already a trailer available for a new slasher movie featuring Mickey Mouse. This follows the character design from the classic Disney animated film Steamboat Willie being released into the public domain after the copyright has expired.

There is a lot that can be done now that the likeness of the character is free to use. Video game developer Fumi Games is making a first-person shooter game in a similar art style to Steamboat Willie. However, just producing a generic slasher film with the killer wearing a Mickey Mouse mask is less than low hanging fruit. It’s doing nothing more than riding the hype and hoping to bank off of name recognition alone.
