Alligator sneaks through dog door before being wrangled

AN alligator was wrangled from a Louisiana home after the family dog alerted its owner’s to the reptile’s presence in the early hours of June 24. Donald Schultz, who recorded this footage of the approximately five-foot gator in his New Iberia home, told Storyful it entered through the dog door. He said his Australian cattle dog, Panda, growled at about 1:30 am, leading his wife to believe someone might be in the house. “I grabbed my pistol and, in my underwear, I turned the corner into the hallway. It was dark but I stopped because I could see a shape on the edge of the rug,” he said. “I couldn’t focus very well, having just woke up, but when the full shape registered in my brain, I jumped back.”
