What spiritual, religious, or philosophical risk to civilization is posed by AI and transhumanism (i.e., ‘post-humanism’)?

This existential question is quintessential, given the human soul is at risk by definition, as “the immaterial essence, animating principle, or actuating cause of an individual life,” or the “spiritual principle embodied in human beings, [or] all rational and spiritual beings,” (Merriam-Webster); and competing AI and robotic ‘pseudo-consciousness’ is soulless. Furthermore, given that AI/robotics competes against humans akin to ‘survival of the fittest,’ aren’t those aiding-and-abetting such Big Tech advancements agents of evil threatening humanity’s extinction?
