Final Fantasy XVI OST - When Lightning Struck

During his adolescent years, Clive assumes the role of Joshua's protector, bestowed with abilities drawn from the fiery Eikon Phoenix. Coexisting with his parents and Jill under their care, the trio forms a familial unit.

Their lives take an unexpected turn when, accompanying their father Duke Elwin to an event meant to awaken Joshua's latent powers, they fall victim to an ambush by Sanbreque soldiers. In the chaos, Elwin succumbs to the attack, triggering an uncontrollable surge of power within Joshua, manifesting the destructive force of the Phoenix.

In the aftermath, a malevolent Eikon named Ifrit materializes and mercilessly slays the newly awakened Phoenix. Fueled by grief and vengeance, Clive solemnly swears to avenge his family. Meanwhile, Clive's mother, Anabella, harboring disdain for her son's perceived lack of divine favor and driven by a desire to safeguard her lineage, makes a treacherous decision.

She betrays Rosaria, the land they once called home, and consigns Clive to servitude as a magical soldier within the ranks of Sanbreque's military forces. Thus, the tale unfolds with Clive's destiny entwined in the complex web of familial betrayal and a thirst for retribution.
