Netanyahu Says "God Bless You" To Guatemalan Leader Moving Embassy To Jerusalem

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday praised Guatemala's president for the country's decision to join the U.S. in pushing to move its embassy in Israel to Jerusalem.

“God bless you, my friend, President Jimmy Morales, God bless both our countries, Israel and Guatemala,” Netanyahu said in remarks to a meeting of his Likud party.

Guatemalan President Jimmy Morales announced plans on Sunday to move his country's embassy in Israel to Jerusalem.

The move came days after United Nations members voted overwhelmingly against President Trump's decision to recognize Jerusalem as Israel's capital.
