This state fair blue ribbon Texas Pecan Pie will knock your taste buds out of the park. I have changed my recipe from light Karo syrup to dark Karo syrup and the family has voted, this is even better than before. I will tell you tips on what to do to keep the crust where you put it. Come make this Texas tradition with me in the heart of pecan country. I have been making this pie for over 40 years and every year I need to make a second one, but never do.

The ingredients for southern pecan pie is below:

1 Cup plus 1 T of dark karo syrup ( you can use light karo syrup instead)
1/2 Cup plus 1 T Sugar
1 1/2 tsp. Vanilla
1 1/2 Cups Pecans ( these can be roasted beforehand to add a nuttier flavor )
3 Large Eggs
Pinch of Salt
1 unbaked pie crust
