Crews of the Pantsir-S1 anti-aircraft missile and gun systems monitor the airspace above the positions of Russian troops around the clock. To destroy air targets, the complex has 12 anti-aircraft missiles. In addition, the complex is equipped with two double-barreled 30 mm cannons with 1,400 rounds of ammunition. The armament of the Pantsir-S1 air defense missile system allows it to destroy any air attack weapon within the established operating range.

The crews constantly change positions, and upon arriving at a new place, they are able to switch from standby mode to combat mode in 10 seconds. While on combat duty, the crew of the Pantsir-S1 air defense missile system in the Kupyansk direction destroyed an unmanned aerial vehicle.
