After over a decade of rigorous self experimentation with various herbs, with the sole purpose of using them to manifest greater states of health, I can confidently say that Panax Ginseng root is my absolute favorite. Before I continue I would like to interject by saying that this post is strictly about my favorite herb, & that this does not relate to my favorite supplement, fungus, etc. I shall make isolated, independent posts about these in the future.

I stumbled across Panax Ginseng after multiple failed attempts at finding a potent natural way of increasing energy, stamina, & strength. In the health community there are a lot of bogus claims being made about various herbs, & millions of dollars being made from marketing off the spine of those same claims. Ginseng however, is one of the exceptions to the rule. Not only does it work as a powerful energy promoting herb, but it has an almost endless array of secondary benefits, especially when consumed over a long period of time.

Panax Ginseng, also known as Asian Ginseng is much different than American Ginseng, known as Panax quinquefolius. They have radically different methods of action, & each have a variety of unique uses. In Chinese medicine, panax Ginseng is known for its assertive Yang qualities, which promotes energy & heat, whereas American Ginseng is known for its Yin qualities, being receptive & cool.

In Greek, Panax means " all healing ", & after multiple years of consistent, almost daily use of the root, I am starting to believe this definition to be more than true. Ginseng has an unfolding effect, whereby its true power begins to open up & manifest itself through consistent ingestion. The word panax also shares the origin of the word panacea: a remedy for all diseases & hardships.

Sadly, I can only use 400 words on these posts, so I would like to end this by saying that Panax Ginseng is historically known for its abilities to invigorate energy & the human spirit, its ability to strengthen the internal organs, an effective treatment for spleen & lung Qi deficiency, gastritis, hypogenitalism, faintness, diabetes, cardiac insufficiency, anemia, etc.
