These are just a few of many videos discussing fish oil and its remarkable healing effect on folks with TBI, aka traumatic brain injuries.
There is a big debate nowadays as to whether fish oil supplementation is as healthy as all the media hype has made it out to be. There are those that say fish oil is one of the most toxic substances that you can put into your body, and there are those that claim otherwise. I myself, find that fish oil supplementation works remarkably well. As an experiment, I have gone on and off fish oil, as well as algae DHA oil supplements ( when I was plant based ) for years. This was to gauge whether or not I perform better with or without it. After years of experimentation with both taking it and stopping - I can say without a shadow of a doubt that my brain works better with fish oil. I also find that my skin feels better, my memory, my general well-being and mental health, etc. Does that mean that everybody will have the exact same experience that I did? Absolutely not. What works for me may or may not work for you. One shoe does not fit all feet & one size does not fit all.
I think that instead of buying into talking points about supplements as well as the copious array of opinions of others saying whats best for us and what is not - we should test things out for ourselves and then gauge what works for us. You could follow one person advice and feel like crap for years. While following that persons advice ( that is not working for you ) you could believe that is is undeniably the greatest thing for you because of research papers, people opinions, articles, videos, etc. This way of thinking often takes people out of their own groove & makes them adhere to the opinions of others, even though that advice may not be what is best for them. Catch my drift? We should seek to find our own groove through experimentation.
For instance - I at one point believed veganism was the greatest diet for humans. Did then wind up to be true? No. Did veganism work great for me while I did it - yes. Did that have it's expiration date? Yes it did. Things come and go and things change in life. What works for you know, even though its providing you benefit, may not allows confer those same results. At that point, a change or an upgrade is necessary. Having the ability to harbor fluidity in our beliefs is crucial.
I take fish oil almost daily. I also will take krill oil from time to time when my funds aren't as tight as they have been lately. Work with what you've got. There are cheap solutions and there are expensive ones. I have found through my own low cost budget supplement shopping that the $6 dollar bottles of fish oil from grocery outlet work just as well as the more costly bottles. They currently have a $6 dollar bottle that has 150 capsules, and a $10 bottle that has 250 or 400 capsules. I cannot remember.
