The nature of Bob Iger’s retardation is not in his ability to close deals. Pixar shows that. Disney bought Pixar when Bob Iger was barely installed as the coup candidate for CEO after Michael Eisner was ousted. He would follow it up with other deals. No, his retardation is in the way his management style seems to encourage the hiring of creative blackholes that pump out family-repelling projects with seeming ease. Pixar’s losing streak at the box office is demonstrative of this. In this installment, we go through the powerhouse that was Pixar when Disney bought them, how losing John Lassiter seems to have drained that creative magic, and how bad the losing has gotten in recent years (admittedly aided by viruses of unknown origin about whose origin we were not allowed to speculate).
