In 2011 Victor and his partner, Jaime Zapata, were ambushed in Mexico by a Drug Cartel while on assignment, and tragically Agent Zapata was shot multiple times and was killed, while Victor survived numerous gunshot wounds. The story of this event is heart stopping and unbelievable.
