Witchcraft is the oldest and most influential religion on earth today. Their craft goes back several millennia, and at one time it was most practiced religion on earth. It is still widely practiced today; however, it is mostly practiced secretly and in private. This is because once Christianity became the dominate religion in Europe and the New World, witchcraft became a persecuted religion. It was no longer safe for them to practice their craft in the open. Many witches to this day pretend to be Christians, or other Abrahamic religions to hide their true religion of witchcraft. These people are called 'crypto witches', and they can often be prominent leaders in churches. These crypto witches have also hidden their craft symbolically around Biblical characters and Christian doctrines.
