1/22/24 card: blessed heart

A blessing for the week ahead: may you hear what your heart is telling you. So often we look externally for what we think is missing in us. Instead, we should be turning inward. Today I will be journaling about a recent experience where I was facing a difficult decision - I knew how I wanted to proceed but I was contemplating finding a therapist to discuss it with because I was so nervous about making the wrong decision. The more I thought about it, the more I realized that I really wanted the therapist to be my scapegoat. I wanted to be able to say “this expert” told me this was the right decision - thereby relieving myself of the responsibility. I’m not knocking therapy. I’ve spent many years in therapy over my lifetime. There is value in opening yourself up to someone you can trust. But in this case, I already knew what I wanted to do. I already had the answer within me. May you hear what your heart is telling you - and may you have the courage to follow through.
