MRGPlays E.T. The Extra Terrestrial -- Retro Let’s Play and Reminiscence / Can I Still ? (2600+)

E.T. for the Atari 2600 gets a lot of hate--it has documentaries made about how it's awfulness impacted the gaming industry (hint: the impact was total destruction), and is generally considered the worst video game ever made. But does E.T. for 2600 deserve its bad rep?

Is it an unplayable, mess…or is it just confusing and mechanically frustrating, but with something quite interesting and innovative going on?

And…can MizerableRainGod actually beat the game after not having played it for about 30 years?

The answer to all these questions and more lie within, so let’s take an extended look at the game accused of bringing down an entire industry!

Some important notes:
1) I spent a lot of time explaining the game during the first 2 rounds that I played, so I turned the game sound off. For the third round, I turned sound back on.
2) The flower is not an Easter Egg like I thought. It is mentioned in the manual, and gives you an extra life if you activate it.
