The LORD, Our Maker (6) : David's Mighty Men

One of the things God is Making us all into is a people of Honor. The LORD spoke through the Old Testament prophet, '...for those who honor Me I will honor, and those who despise Me will be lightly esteemed' (see 1 Samuel 2:30). Honor is a huge part of who God is and how He wants His people to be. And honor is how David's men became Mighty. They first became men of honor. We shall see they are examples of 1 Peter 5:6 — "Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time. . ."
