The Government of New Brunswick, had approached the churches in an effort to get increase the vaccine uptake and wanted them to promote the vaccines among their congregation, and encourage vaccine mandates. The government had implemented a policy that said, if churches would require proof of vaccination, that they could operate full capacity – no restrictions, no masking, nothing.
