Hamas video shows intense fighting in Gaza with Israel's military

The armed wing of the Palestinian militant group Hamas released on Monday (January 29) an edited video it says shows fighting in the streets of Gaza's Khan Younis.

The footage shows fighters carrying shoulder-mounted weapons systems and firing them at battle tanks. Reuters was not able to independently verify the location or the date when the video was filmed.

Earlier on Monday, the Israeli army said its forces had killed dozens of Palestinian gunmen throughout the Gaza Strip in the past 24 hours, including four who were spotted preparing to ambush troops near Al-Amal hospital in southern Khan Younis.

The armed wing of Hamas and the Islamic Jihad said fighters clashed with Israeli troops in several areas across the enclave overnight. Hamas' armed wing said its fighters destroyed two Israeli tanks in Khan Younis.
