Challenger Disaster

The Space Shuttle Challenger disaster occurred on January 28, 1986, when the space shuttle exploded 73 seconds into its flight. The Challenger was during its tenth launch and was 46,000 feet above the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of Cape Canaveral, Florida when it disintegrated. All seven crew members died in the explosion.
