The driverless electric vehicles were pulled from the streets after a vehicle hit and dragged a pedestrian in California in October. GM President Mark Reuss says it will most likely take the public five years to trust the vehicles again. The Department of Justice and the Securities and Exchange Commission opened investigations into Cruise after the California incident.
