She says of nurses' responsibility, ""We’re supposed to be the last line of defense for the public; we’re supposed to stand up to doctors; we’re supposed to ask questions; we’re supposed to critically think. This is what we’re trained to do and they‘ve taken that away. And if nurses can’t speak out, if nurses can’t advocate for you, then I don’t know who will anymore in that system.""
