THE TRULY HUMBLE WILL BE EXALTED

Matthew 23:12 New King James Version
12 And whoever exalts himself will be [a]humbled, and he who humbles himself will be [b]exalted.

There's something really precious about these verses of scripture I read this morning, as well as something about them that I really needed, because I need a reminder to humble myself before God, so that He will exalt me. I need to remember that I can never take credit for what rightfully belongs to him, but I need to take time to right size myself and acknowledge that everything I have comes from God, and to never take it for granted.

I think that's why the questions from this morning's devotional, really got me to thinking, and carefully examine my heart when it comes to my attitude, and whether or not I am humbling myself before God, and not allowing arrogance to take hold in my heart. As such, I'd like to share these questions with all of you tonight, and I pray that what I share with you will challenge your heart to want to live a life of humility, having the heart and wisdom to humble yourself before God, so that you can avoid humiliation. Please read these questions carefully, and I pray that God will speak to you through them.

When have you experienced humility that brought honor?

What I'd like to do tonight my friends, is share some things that God showed me from his word on the issue of pride and arrogance, through this vlog I'd like to share with all of you tonight, and I pray that what I share with you will not only get you to thinking about this issue, but to humble yourself before God, and let him be in control of your life. So, my friends, as I close this post with all of you tonight, I want to leave you with this final question from this morning's devotional, and I pray that it will challenge you to ask God to give you the heart and wisdom to humble yourself before Him.

How can you humble yourself before God?

I believe this starts with acknowledging the fact that you're not the one in control, but God is! That you remember that everything you have, everything you are, how you move and have your being, comes from God, and to give Him thanks for it! Don't ever try to take credit for what God does, but give the credit he deserves for it. Above all, ask God to help you right size yourself, so that you do acknowledge him and all that takes place in your life and in the world today, and ask Him to help you humble yourself to honor Him and avoid humiliation.
