Jeremiah 22 "Do What is Right" 2/7/2024

What God is saying is that they had balm and physicians to heal the physical ailments of the people….
But not the ability to heal them of a much worse condition…that of idol worship.
Gilead was a beautiful fertile hillside.
Along with the forests of Lebanon…when you looked out over the land from the summit it was breathtaking.
But God tells them that if they do not repent…He is going to make the whole area a wasteland…a wilderness, that will be uninhabitable.
Your enemies will use the trees as firewood.
This will be a puzzle for those who see the destruction that will befall this once beautiful land.
And they will ask:
“Why has the Lord dealt thus with this great city?”
And they will answer, “Because they have forsaken the covenant of the Lord their God and worshiped other gods and served them.”
