My Man Godfrey

My Man Godfrey is a 1936 American screwball comedy film directed by Gregory La Cava and starring William Powell and Carole Lombard. The film is about a socialite who hires a poor man to be her butler during the Great Depression.

The film's moral is to do unto others as you would have them do to you. Godfrey tries to stay kind to those around him, even though he is treated poorly.
