Erasing Parental Consent

HB 2436 authorizes minors 14 years of age or older to consent to medical care and services for sexually transmitted infections, pregnancy, family planning services, abortions, including the prevention of sexually transmitted infections, with no parental consent. It excludes parents from their children's healthcare.

Parents should be involved in their children's healthcare. The brain is not fully developed until the age of 25 years old, and minors are not independent enough to make these decisions.
