Remembering the Beatles on the 60th Anniversary of their first appearance on the Ed Sullivan Show

On February 9, 1964, the Beatles appeared on the Ed Sullivan Show to a massive TV audience. I was watching too. Were the Beatles a psy-op to help America forget about the Kennedy Assassination? I haven't a clue, but I sure was a fan.
