Reading the Bible in 1 Year - Numbers Chapter 23 & 24 - Balaam's 1st Oracle

Numbers Chapters 23 and 24 are all about good v. evil. These chapters talk about divination and sorcery, oracles, curses, blessings, and angels. This is a continuation of the story about Balak (a king of Moab) who wanted Balaam to curse the Israelites and bless his people but, at first, he wouldn’t. Eventually, he went to meet Balak and travel toward the Israelites with the Moab princes. Along the way, Balaam encountered an Angel of the Lord who was poised with a sword ready to kill him. Lucky for Balaam, his donkey wouldn’t lead him to his death. Unfortunately, Balaam beat his donkey three times for saving his life. This is a miraculous story in that the donkey spoke to Balaam.
Over the course of this journey, instead of cursing the Israelites, Balaam blesses the Israelites and utters multiple oracles.
