And it's critical to every American's freedom. Why? Because it prevents overzealous prosecutors from using civil testimonies in a criminal trial when it's been agreed that won't happen.

Ask Bill Cosby how important that is.

Regardless of how you feel about Bill Cosby, he has rights. Unalienable rights. Guaranteed him by the US Constitution and the Bill of Rights. Just like every citizen of the United States of America. And those rights were grossly violated.

Attorney Jody Lehrer joins Jared on the All Things Crime stage to discuss how this whole mess unfolded. We don't discuss Bill Cosby's actions in regard to the women he allegedly sexually assaulted. Sadly none of that matters now.

What we do discuss is how Bill was told he would not be prosecuted by one DA, then went through a civil deposition, then another prosecutor used that civil deposition to convict him in a criminal case. And as a result of those actions and the appeal process the PA Supreme Court vacated the conviction.

This case will be studied by law schools for decades!
