Homeless-Direct Donations

It’s the Chair Man, and I’m back again to share with you a wonderful promise from Proverbs and an exciting new way to help the homeless.

Were you aware the Bible says you can actually lend money to God? You might ask, “How can that be?” He already owns everything. And that’s true. But in the Book of Proverbs, Amplified Version, Chapter 19, Verse 17, we read, “He who is gracious and lends a hand to the poor lends to the LORD, And the LORD will repay him for his good deed.” Imagine that. When we ease the burdens of the less fortunate, God will see your act of kindness, and He promises to bless you in return.
Sounds to me like a “no lose” proposition.
By the way, for the Christian, it’s also an opportunity to show others His love and bless the least of Jesus’ brothers and sisters, as He requests of us.
So, there’s the “why” of giving to the homeless. And here’s the “how.”
No matter where you live, modern technology has provided a way to give 100 percent of your donation directly to the homeless. There are many worthwhile organizations out there, doing good work on the streets, but they have their own expenses, so a good portion of your love gift never gets to those most in need.
Our friends, John and Jerry, the founders of “Love Matters” in Hickory, North Carolina are doing their part to help feed and clothe the homeless in their community. Earlier this week, after lunch, they joined two old friends and two newcomers to the group at a local clothes store, where they all showed off their new attire. They also got out their cell phones and explained the process of direct donations via the Cash App.
