Michelle speaks one on one with Heather Genik. Heather became pregnant as COVID hit, and her husband was no longer allowed to attend doctor's appointments. Heather had plenty of negative experiences with the medical system during her pregnancy. Heather's husband wasn't allowed in the operating room when their daughter was born. Heather's husband was quickly escorted out of the hospital after the birth.
After giving birth, there was a night when Heather's newborn baby was choking, despite Heather trying to call the nurses to come to assist, she had to take action on her own.

Heather's story is a testament to the challenges many Canadians have faced with the healthcare system throughout COVID-19.
