Questioning the Narrative of the Patent System

Here, I ask the question, "what is the real purpose of the patent system".

I was prompted by this tiktok video linked below, where the download was clear, there is something happening in this system that is not quite what we see as it was setup to do. From the video, I get the clear download, that the are multiple reasons for the patent system, none of which are to protect the creators. This is a pattern that becomes clearer each step we move forward and peel back layers of the narrative.
