Tamir Rice was a 12-year-old African American boy who was killed by a white police officer in Cleveland, Ohio on November 22, 2014. Rice was playing with a toy pellet gun and throwing snowballs in a park when the police arrived. Timothy Loehmann, the 26-year-old officer, shot Rice almost immediately after arriving.
