The three revolutionary ruptures of the last fifty years could not dismantle the Ethiopian colonial state and did not empower the oppressed classes and colonized peoples, notably the Oromo, to achieve liberation and democracy.

These ruptures only triggered regime changes but ended up trying to consolidate the colonial state and revive Ethiopianism or Habashaa supremacy.
