The M-Vac System: Revolutionizing Crime Solving Globally! Insights from CHIA 2022 Attendees
Anyone who is in a criminal investigation profession, whether it's as a detective, crime scene investigator, forensic scientist, supplier, or any other capacity, knows how difficult obtaining solid evidence can be.
Of all the types of evidence, the gold standard is forensic DNA.
Many prosecutors won't go to trial without a viable DNA profile of the suspect it's so important!
Over the past two decades, forensic DNA technologies have advanced at an incredible rate, especially in the lab processing and profile analysis areas, but the upfront collection, which until recently has been dominated by the swabbing method (essentially a Q-Tip).
Enter the M-Vac System - a wet-vacuum-based forensic DNA collection system that is similar to a medical-grade carpet cleaner.
And it's changing the forensic world.
The M-Vac sprays a sterile solution down onto the evidence surface and simultaneously applies vacuum pressure to collect DNA material out of nooks, crannies, fibers, and anywhere else the DNA might be "hiding", in a much more aggressive and effective way than any of the other traditional collection methods.
How is this affecting homicide detectives - the primary attendee at CHIA?
They want it. They are begging their crime labs to buy a system and use it on many of their cases, or at a minimum approve the detectives to take the evidence to a private lab that has it.
Cause it's helping solve some amazing cases and for the detective and every other investigator, that's their only goal.
Because a solved case most often leads to justice for the victim(s) and the victims' family - and that is ALL that matters.
All Things Crime is a new, comprehensive video series that will explore every aspect of crime and the ensuing investigation, one video interview at a time. The host, Jared Bradley, is the President of M-Vac Systems, which is a wet-vacuum-based forensic DNA collection system and has experience traveling the world training all levels of law enforcement and crime lab DNA analysts in using the M-Vac to help solve crime. Along the way he has met people from all walks of life and experience in investigating crimes, so is putting that knowledge to use in another way by sharing it in these videos.
