Friend, those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat its mistakes. When we ignore the wisdom of the past, we walk blindly into the future, stumbling down well-worn paths of folly. The great thinkers of ages gone implore us - see clearly the currents of time that shape our lives! Apply reason not just to the sciences, but to ethics, society, the spirit. Though my upbringing deviated from the conventional suburban path after a certain point, I am grateful for the self-reliance it fostered. The challenges I faced taught me lessons no textbook could impart. While my background may be uncommon, it gave me strengths and insights that serve me to this day.
