Auckland Council is a member of the C40 global network. C40 Cities include membership of 98 major cities worldwide. Auckland City collaborate with the Mayors Migration Council. The Mayors Migration Council refers to the UN Global Compact of Migration adopted in the UN Assembly December 18th 2018. Winston Peters was the minister in charge of this portfolio. The Mayors Migration Council was founded by Mayors worldwide to be a direct response to Climate Action which has in recent years characterized as a Climate Crisis

As stated by Winston Peters in a public speech New Zealanders do not have to be concerned the UNGCM is non-binding. But he did not tell New Zealand that the UN Compact of Migration could be influentially acted upon, as the Compact is quite complex. Now it appears it is being acted upon and foes have relevant capabilities to be widely used. When I petitioned the objection to the UN Global Compact Of Migration I was given 13 days to collect signatures, very few people even knew the Migration Compact existed. We heightened peoples awareness through rallies and protests including that of free speech in Auckland in 2018. Hence I was able to obtain 6521 signatures from Facebook to petition against the UN Compact of Migration. My objections did go to the select committee but nothing came of it. It was a lot of work, and a dead duck in the water. I continued to have a heightened awareness as to why NZ Govt would agree to the UN Global Compact Of Migration that we were led to believe had no purpose, it was non-binding. (Don't worry be happy).
However, the UN Global Compact does have purpose, is capable of impacting Nations States, Europe, US etc., and even New Zealand. Over this last year migration has increased 183%. Auckland Council state that the significant increase in migration will mean added costs.
