Mae Jemison

Mae Jemison is an accomplished Melanated Lady. She was the first Melanated Lady to travel to Space in the Endeavor on September 12, 1992. Growing up during segregation, many people doubted her, including her elementary school teacher. Mae Jemison did not let the doubt of others cloud her aspirations and went on to pursue her dreams of becoming a scientist.

To date, Jemison is solidified as an educator, NASA Retiree, Doctor, Author, and scientist. She believed in herself and turned her passions into reality.
